How much time is required to begin service?

Sunrise Family Healthcare prefers a 1 to 2 days notice for Admission. If service is needed sooner, Sunrise Family Staff Care will try to meet your needs within 24 hours.

Who uses our services?

Seniors who prefers to remain at home rather than an institution, caregivers that are concern about the safety, quality and care of their loved ones, professionals such as attorneys, healthcare providers and court appointed guardians.

What is the difference between a companion and a home health aide?

Companions and home health aides will prepare meals, do light housekeeping, general errands, medication reminders, and provide companionship to seniors. However, only a certified home health aide is allowed to provide hands-on care such as bathing and dressing. A certified home health aide has completed a 76-hour training program with supervision; there are no certification requirements for a companion.

Can the home health aide drive and run errands?

The home health aide can only use the client's car to run errands. Be prepared to reimburse mileage if the aide is using their own car to run errands for the client. The home health aide cannot transport the client. If the client needs transport, other arrangements will be made by the client or family.

What type of training does your service providers receive at Sunrise Family Care Center?

All Sunrise Family Care service providers are required to complete a series of safety, team and health education training. Also, they are required to complete a dementia training program that will teach then techniques on how to work with clients with dementia.

What areas do you service?

We service Ohio in Franklin, Delaware, and Marion Counties.

How do you screen your candidates?

A vigorous recruiting process of interviewing, testing, background and reference check is conducted on all employees.

Do you provide RN supervision? How Often?

Yes, the nurse is responsible for seeing the client once a case is opened. During the home visit, the nurse will conduct a care assessment and create an individualized plan of care for the client. The nurse will review the plan of care with home health aide and continue to supervise the care the home health aide delivers. By regulation, the nurse must conduct a home visit every 60 days. Sunrise Family Healthcare will offer additional nursing visits as required for an additional fee.

Are your service providers bonded, insured and covered for worker's compensation?

What payment options are available?

Sunrise Family Healthcare accepts Private Pay, Medicare, Medicaid, MRDD, PASSPORT and Long term care insurance Cards.

Who pays for services?

Sunrise Family Healthcare services are billed on an hourly basis. Home care, care management, and integrative services are priced separately. Fee schedules are available on request.

What are my options if the Home Health Aide and my parent are not compatible?

As in all new relationships, there is always an adjustment period. You can ask the agency to help clarify the role of the home health aide with the client. If problems continue, please don't hesitate to request another home health aide.
